Who can apply?
1. Any person aged 18 or above, regardless of academic qualification, may apply for courses organised by this Centre, except for qualification restrictions specified for individual courses.
2. Some courses may be offered to members only.
   
How to apply?
1. In person: Please come to the Centre in person during enrolment period, fill in the application form, and pay the fees with cash or cheque.
2. By post: Please mail a crossed cheque made payable to ­»´ä©~¤hªL or Buddhist Lodge of Laity along with the application form to the Centre (16/F, Hong Kong Jewellery Building, 178-180 Queen's Road Central, Hong Kong). Please do not send cash. Please indicate on the envelope 'Application by Post'. (No postal order will be accepted.)
 
a. Please write applicant's name, course(s) being enrolled and contact numbers on the back of the cheque.
b. Members who wish to enjoy discount rate or priority privilege, please indicate "member" or "Membership Number".
c. Members who apply for courses with discount rates available should write the fee amount on their cheque with the discount rate taken into consideration, or else it will be assumed that they choose to give up their rights for fee discount. The Centre will not reimburse the excess amount paid by members.
d. For applications by post, the Centre reserves the right not to accept from members or to return to members their application form if the information they provide is incomplete or erroneous or if they do not meet the enrolment qualifications required.
3. By Fax: Please fax the filled application form and the Bank deposit confirmation slip (Payment account: HSBC 808-085849-001 Buddhist Lodge of Laity) to 3107 3234 or post them to the Centre.
4. Courses are limited in seats and are offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
   
Closing date for Application
The closing date for each course is the day before the course commences. However, early application is advisable due to limited course places. (Application will be closed as soon as enrolment fills up all course places. Also, the Centre reserves to cancel a course if there is inadequate enrolment.)
   
Points for Attention
1. This Centre is a corporate organisation and is obliged to serve it members first. Please accept our apologies if courses are already full when making your application.
2. Applicants should attend the courses themselves and should not ask other persons to attend the courses for them, nor should they bring along other persons to the course.
3. No sound recording or videotaping of any course is permitted unless special permission has been granted. Upon infringement of this rule, the Centre reserves the right to confiscate all related materials.
4. The copyrights of all course notes, information, handouts and contents belong to the Centre. They are only for private practice and learning of course attendants.
5. No smoking, drinking or eating is allowed in the Lecture Hall and the Meditation Hall.
6. Please turn off pagers, mobile phones or any sound-emitting devices during course time so as not to affect the progress of the course.
7. Please take good care of various facilities of this Centre, pay attention to classroom order, respect the teachers and abide by various regulations of this Centre. Or else this Centre has the right to terminate their rights to lessons and no fees will be refunded.
   
Typhoon and Rainstorm Signals
1. Classes beginning at 9 a.m. and ends before 1:00 p.m. will be suspended if Typhoon Signal No. 8 or higher is still hoisted by the Observatory at 6:00 a.m.
2. Classes beginning at 1 p.m. and ends before 7:00 p.m. will be suspended if Typhoon Signal No. 8 or higher is still hoisted by the Observatory at 11:00 a.m.
3. Classes beginning at 7 p.m. and ends before 9:30 p.m. will be suspended if Typhoon Signal No. 8 or higher is still hoisted by the Observatory at 4:00 p.m.
4. When the Observatory releases the Black Rainstorm Signal, all classes that have already commenced will proceed as usual whereas those not yet commenced will be suspended.
Note: There will be no make-up classes for classes suspended due to reasons above. (Please visit in person or call on the Centre office in case of any queries.)
   
Declaration on Collection of Personal Particulars
1. Students are requested to provide true information when applying for courses.
2. Students will be held fully responsible if the Centre is unable to contact applicants (e.g. to inform them of change of course time or course cancellation) because the required information they provide is incomplete.
3. The personal particulars provided by students when applying for courses or activities organised by the Centre will be used for processing matters related to their application for such courses or activities, sending information of the Centre to students, or mailing regulations to students.
